Description
Historically, surgeons performing penile prosthesis placement with incision and grafting have made incisions at the point of maximal curvature (POMC). For men with severe Peyronie’s disease, this typically results in a large defect requiring a large structural graft. This video demonstrates the SAPOC technique which stands for “Slices Around the Point of Curvature”. The SAPOC technique is a variation of the multiple slit technique but focuses on making incisions around the POMC instead of at the POMC. This allows for curvature correction and length restoration while leaving smaller defects that in many occasions do not require placement of a structural graft. This can also decrease operative time and theoretically will lower the risk of cylinder herniation.
