Penile Prosthesis, Transgender Male, Gender Affirming Surgery

This video presents the surgical technique of an inflatable penile implant in a transgender male patient using an infrapubic approach. We show the step by step aspects of the procedure. The implant used was ZSI 475 FTM, from Zephyr, specifically designed for the transgender patient. In the postoperative care, the patient used a compressive dressing, that was changed in first 24 hours, and left in place for the next 72 hours. The prosthesis was left unactivated (different from the cisgender male implant) to avoid distal compression. The patient started to activate the prosthesis 3 weeks after the surgery and was enabled to start sexual intercourse in 6 weeks. The patient used 4 weeks of oral antibiotics (Amoxicilin and Clavulanate). No major complications occurred in 1 year of follow-up.
