Description
We present our experience with long-term outcomes of holmium laser enucleation of the prostate during a period of more than 20 years. We discussed the change in technique of enucleation. Initially we used two or three lobes techniques that gradually evolved to a one lobe enucleation. Our technic evolved from late apical release to early apical release with decrease in stress urinary incontinence rate. The use of MOSES effect has also improved the procedure and coagulation effect thus decreasing the OR time. Our morcellation evolved from the Luminis, then Stotrz and now usinf the Wolf morcellator. Holmium laser enucleation of the prostate is a safe, effective and durable procedure to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia during long-term follow-up.
