Description

The patient in this video is a 72 year old male patient who underwent a Robotic Assisted Radical Prostatectomy 2 years before. He suffered from a T2c N0 prostate cancer with Gleason score 3+4 and iPSA 7,32 mcg/l. Prostate volume was 169 grams. Despite pelvic floor muscle exercises there was a urine loss > 300 cc per day. Cystoscopy revealed no bladder neck fibrosis, urodynamics showed a stable bladder with capacity of 353 cc. There was no residual urine post voiding. Furthermore he had an erectile dysfunction not responding to PDE-5i’s and intracavernous injections with PGE-1. Flaccid length of the penis base to corona was pre-operatively 5 cm, stretched length was 9 cm.

Surgery was performed through a single penoscrotal vertical incision. Total operating time was skin to skin 35 minutes. The procedure is not executed by implanting one device after the other but mixed dictated by the preparation of the elements of the device by the table nurse. An AMS 700 Cx 18 + 2 cm is implanted with the conceal reservoir on the right side filled with 100 cc saline. The AMS 800 device has a cuff size of 4,5 cm with the PRB (61/70) reservoir on the left side filled with 25 cc saline.
